President - Mark L. Gillensen

Mark L. Gillenson is Professor of Management Information Systems in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics of the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. He received his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. Dr. Gillenson worked for the IBM Corp. for 15 years in a variety of positions, including seven years as a faculty member of the prestigious IBM Systems Research Institute. Subsequently, he was a professor at the University of Miami, Miami FL.

Dr. Gillenson’s areas of interest are database management systems, particularly database administration and database design, electronic commerce, and computer and communications security. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Database Management and of the journal Pattern Recognition. Dr. Gillenson’s research has appeared in MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, Methods of Information in Medicine, and other leading journals. His books include Strategic Planning, Systems Analysis, and Database Design, 1984, Database: Step-by-Step, Second Edition, 1990, and Fundamentals of Database Management Systems, 2005, all published by John Wiley & Sons.

Vice President, Administration - Susie Maiden

As an established Information Technology Manager, Susie Maiden has been with FedEx Corporation for more than 16 years. A graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, Susie now manages Database Administrators in the Data Architecture department at FedEx. Her Information Technology experience includes: Application Development, Project Management, Infrastructure Management, Enterprise Data Standards and Data Architecture. Susie has also worked in the international arena, traveling to Canada, England, Italy and Singapore performing systems analysis and implementations. Susie’s electronic address is smmaiden@fedex.com.

Vice President, Programs - Andrew A. Field

Andy Field has been involved in information management activities for over thirty years in both the private and public sectors internationally and domestically. He has held senior leadership positions accountable for establishing Enterprise Information Management practices in several organizations, including a Fortune 100 company.

Andy has also consulted with clients from many industry and government sectors over the years and established and ran as president a consulting firm specializing in strategic information systems planning. He has broad experience in both operational and data warehouse projects from both a hands on and leadership perspective. Andy is currently a Director with Recombinant Corp.

Vice President, Finance - Sue Johnson

Vice President, Public Relations - Carol Mosley

Carol Mosley is Lead Open Systems Database Administrator for AutoZone, Inc where she is responsible for Informix and Oracle Support, Data Warehousing and Data Architecture/Metdata Management. She started her career over fifteen years ago in help desk support at AutoZone and has held positions at IBM as both Database and UNIX System Administrators and at Informix in their on-site support tier working with companies like Wal-Mart, Visa, GTE (Verizon) and Wells-Fargo bank. She was promoted to on-site support manager at Informix before returning home to Memphis to again work for AutoZone, Inc. She is an alumni of East High School-Memphis, Tennessee and Mount Holyoke College-South Hadley, Massachusetts. She currently resides in Memphis with her husband, Kevin and their two daughter ages 4 years and 5 months.

Position At Large - Carolyn Ackerman

Carolyn Ackerman has worked in many business and technical roles revolving around data beginning with her position as an SAP ABAP Programmer and then Sr. Systems Analyst for Syngenta AG Crop Protection; Her department with a data management company was contracted to build an application for Monsanto’s seed business for their distribution chain to use as a regulated data reporting tool; she created a Web data collection tool in her own business for small businesses to do outbound calling on business prospects. She then worked as a Sr. Business Analyst for Williams Sonoma, Inc. on the Lawson Financials ERP system and is currently Manager, MDM Processes for Smith & Nephew, a medical device company (SAP shop) fostering master data management & governance within a regulated data environment.
